If you purchased your CCTV with a monitor then your CCTV and
monitor will arrive in two separate boxes. One box will have the
CCTV camera and the other box will have the monitor. Most of the
time both boxes arrive at the same time. If they do not arrive
at the same time, please call us so we can check on the status
of the second box.
Once you have both boxes you may proceed setting up your CCTV.
Take the CCTV camera out of the box. Make sure you save the packing
and all the cords, manual and plexiglas. Set the CCTV camera onto
your table. You will want it directly in front of you if you are
setting it up in-line. In-line is where the monitor is on top
of the camera. Take care that the table you choose is not too
high.
If you have to look up at the monitor, once it is on top
of the camera, then you will probably get a kink in you neck and
your comfort will be compromised.
We sell an adjustable height folding table that is perfect for
using your in-line CCTV on. This table is also wide enough (four
foot) to use a CCTV either side by side or in-line. The shorter
you are the more you should have the CCTV to the side of the camera
or purchase this adjustable height table for ergonomic reasons.
This table is shipped separately. You can set it up without tools.
If you are setting up your CCTV in-line you can use the monitor
tray to put the monitor on top of the camera. This tray is used
for the 20" monitor. The 14" monitor does not require
a tray. Once the tray is secured with the thumb screw (on the
back of the camera) you are ready to put the 20" monitor
on top of the camera.
If you are setting up your CCTV side by side then you will now
want to assemble the legs onto the monitor tray. Use the four
screws and the wing nuts to put these three pieces together. When
setting up the CCTV side by side you will want to place the camera
just to the right of center (if you are right handed).
If you decided to put the monitor to the side. You may place
the tray, with the attached legs, to the left of the camera. You
will want these two parts of the CCTV close together. Position
the tray (with legs) so that its right side is next to the left
side of the camera. The place where they meet should be directly
in front of where you will sit. Now you may place the monitor
on top of the tray.
Now you can connect the monitor's video and power cables. The
video cable is the thin cord with the RCA connectors on it. This
cord plugs into the back of the monitor at the RCA jack. This
jack is yellow. The other end of the RCA video cord goes into
the back of the camera, on the RCA jack. The monitor power cord
plugs into the back of the camera. Now connect the camera's power
cord. This cord is black and has the standard three prong power
plug on one end and the female equivalent on the other end. First
put the female end into the back of the camera. Now you are ready
to plug the power cord into an outlet. Make sure the outlet you
choose has power to it.
